E Money Bags

Queens, NY

BIOGRAPHY

Eric (E-MONEY BAGS) Smith (R.I.P.), cousin of co-CEO of Grand Imperial Music Homicide, was introduced to the music industry by Live Squad in 1992 when they signed with Tommy Boy Records. That was enough motivation for Eric to take the Rap Game serious; so be it, THE E-MONEY BAGS Movement began. Being Bags was a street legend before Rap, it was easy for him to shake up the industry by being independent and having A-list Rappers on his first album, "In Bags We Trust" featuring NAS, CNN, MOBB DEEP, NATURE, KOOL G RAP, etc., etc. He organized the LIVE SQUAD & NAS collaboration that resulted in 2 timeless tracks on NAS's second album, "IT WAS WRITTEN"; "Take it in Blood" and "Silent Murder" (a bonus track on cassette only). He was the first independent CEO/Artist in NY to have both radio stations playing his songs; no distribution, no help, just Him. He brought one of the biggest Rap Battles in history by going at Jay-Z for supporting a rapper under him, BLEEK biting his name.. BAGS went hard on the radio & all mixtapes for a year. PRODIGY of MOBB DEP assisted BAGS JAY-Z called NAS on the situation. It was never resolved. JAY never replied until the SUMMER JAM stage and the rest was history. BAGS originally from BK, then moved to IRAQ Queens. then to the North Side of Jamaica Queens made him not the ordinary guy. His Second LP was in the making, "The Gospel", had one of the biggest anticipation on the streets. Due to his untimely demise in 2001, the project has yet to be released but will be soon with the E-MONEY BAGS story in the making. Thanks to all of the fans who keep his legacy alive....E-MONEY BAGS FOREVER!!!
