Before Grand Imperial was a record label, it was a song Live Squad recorded in the early eighties. Later, when they started their production company, they created Grand Imperial Thug Music and began producing for other artists such as Tupac. The credits are seen on his early LP’s.
Later on in ’99, they started a label and GRAND IMPERIAL MUSIC was born. The first project launched from the label was underground’s elite E-MONEY BAGS “In BAGS WE TRUST” LP; a classic till this day. Even though not too many albums came out, due to the changing of the game, the squad managed to become top contenders in the underworld by getting on mixtapes hosted by DJ KAY SLAY, CUT MASTER C, WHOO KID, KOOL KID, DOO WOP, DJ CLUE, etc. They dropped “Thugadons” vol. 1 & 2 mixtapes, “The Best of E-MONEY BAGS – Wrong Nigga to Fuck With” hosted by DJ KAY SLAY, “The Best of STRETCH vol. 1” hosted by WHOO KID. They released the “Banned in the USA GAME OF SURVIVAL” movie & soundtrack, a MAJESTY solo LP on iTunes titled “Street Made”, a LIVE SQUAD LP titled “The TRIBUTE the Album” featuring the legendary BIG DADDY KANE, and Documentary featuring TUPAC, NOTORIOUS B.I.G, 50 CENT, JAY Z, PRODIGY OF MOBB DEEP, MOE PREME AND BIG SYKE of THUG LIFE, DJ PREMIER, The TRIGGER MEN, etc.
Now in the making is the new LIVE SQUAD LP titled “The Recruiters” featuring all the new up and coming talent in the game. This will keep LIVE SQUAD, GRAND IMPERIAL, BIG STRETCH, E MONEY BAGS, TUPAC, KADAFI, FATAL, and B.I.G. ALIVE FOREVER!!!
